The History of the Corner Block

Coming Soon

The  Corner Block building was erected in 1894 by John M. Whitehead and Amos  Miller. It served as Hillsboro’s first library and “Reading Room” until  the current library was opened in 1905. It has since been the home to The Knights of Pythias lodge, furniture, clothing, department and  hardware stores, an undertaking parlor and a dentist office.

June  of 2022 the Corner Block Group LLC, operated by Chris and Terri Casey,  of rural Hillsboro, purchased the building with the goal of saving it  and ultimately restoring it to its rightfully place of prominence at the  corner of Main and Wood streets.
